Cleaning Your Flooring – Hard Surfaces

You selected your dream floor, and it looks amazing in your home. You want your floor to last and continue to look beautiful for years to come. We recommend that you always use an approved cleaning solution to care for your hard surface floors (Wood, Laminate, Stone, Tile) to keep them looking their very best. It is important to know that using a non-approved cleaning solution may void your manufacturer’s warranty.

Here are some floor cleaners or cleaning methods you should stay away from:

  • Any kind of soap
  • Any wet mop or wet/steam based mop
  • Beater brush on vacuum cleaners – It’s is okay to sweep or vacuum your hard surface floor just so long as you don’t vacuum with a beater brush.
  • Cleaners with harsh abrasives
  • Vinegar and/or water
  • Cleaning agents containing wax, oil or polish — which will leave a dull film on your floor

It is always recommended that you use a microfiber dust mop and approved floor cleaner to clean your floors. We recommend The Bona® Pro Series Floor Care System and cleaners for your entire hard surface floor cleaning. Bona® cleaners are non-toxic, GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality, and are safe for children and pets.
